One of the newest Encore Azaleas, Autumn Sunburst is a bright highlight in the garden, growing compactly and blooming profusely in spring, summer, and fall. Its unique blooms are coral pink with white ruffled edges and stand out against the compact dark green foliage.

Planting and Care Tips

Plant

Plant your Encore Azaleas in your landscape or in container gardens anytime the soil isn’t frozen!

Feed

Fertilize your Encore Azaleas after the spring bloom or in the summer but don’t feed after August.

Water

Avoid over watering or planting in soil that stays wet. During the first year and in the summer, give your Encore Azaleas plenty of water. Soak the soil two inches deep twice per week.

In extreme heat and drought, three times per week might be helpful. After your Encore Azaleas’ first year, they’ll need less water. Once established, they’re quite drought tolerant.

Prune

If you think your Encore Azalea needs pruning, prune immediately after the spring flowering.

Exposure

Plant your Encore Azaleas in light shade to full sun; allow 4-6 hours direct sun for best blooming.
