Planting and Care Tips
Plant
Plant in spring or early fall. Prefers rich, well-drained soil with organic matter. Grows best in part shade but tolerates more sun than many hostas.
Feed
Apply a balanced, slow-release fertilizer in early spring as shoots emerge. Compost or organic matter worked into the soil also supports healthy growth.
Water
Keep soil evenly moist, about 1 inch of water per week. Mulch around the base to help retain moisture and protect roots.
Prune
Remove yellow or damaged leaves as needed. Cut flower stalks after blooming to encourage foliage strength. Trim foliage back to the ground after frost in fall.
Exposure
Thrives in part shade, but tolerates morning to midday sun better than many hostas. Too much afternoon sun may scorch leaves.
