Hosta fortunei 'Gold Standard'
The lovely, heart-shaped foliage emerges green, then turns golden yellow with a dark green margin, creating a dynamic contrast to solid green foliage plants. Showy, pale lavender flowers emerge on tall spikes above the foliage in late spring. Adds stunning color to a shaded border or woodland garden. An herbaceous perennial.

Planting and Care Tips
Plant
Plant in spring or fall in rich, well-drained soil with plenty of organic matter. Space to allow mature growth.
Feed
Fertilize in early spring with a balanced, slow-release fertilizer. A light midsummer feeding or top-dress with compost helps maintain strong foliage color.
Water
Requires consistent moisture, about 1 inch per week. Mulching helps conserve water and keep roots cool. Avoid drought stress, which dulls the leaf color.
Prune
Remove yellow, scorched, or slug-damaged leaves during the season. Cut flower stalks back after bloom. Trim foliage down to the ground after the first frost in fall.
Exposure
Thrives in partial shade, but morning sun enhances its golden leaf color. Avoid hot afternoon sun, which can scorch foliage.
